I surveyed my students in my last class, and here is what they had to say about surprising the hell out of me:
Look at Google+ go.
Also: this is probably the youngest class I’ve had overall.
And 64% of them use Windows.
And 40% of them are using Android phones.
I like that I’m always surprised by how wrong I am about the world that lives outside this online community. About how many people I encounter in bars and airports who have never heard of Tumblr or This American Life. And I love that my students keep me on my toes like this.
these results actually make me really sad. Seeing as I can’t stand google+ and rarely use it(and I can say with certainty that a good majority of my close “internet friends” feel the same). Also, Android? really? I almost threw my ex’s android against a wall just so he’d stop complaining about it. Don’t get me started on Windows.
I’m gonna go hug every single one of my friends and tell them all how much I appreciate them.
